在本专栏当中，我会从近期的经济学人文章中精选一些地道的表达和句型进行精讲。从外刊中学习地道英文表达，所选取的表达一般都是一些可以用于各类话题的通用表达或者常用表达。
1 a mixed blessing
Covid-19 has been a mixed blessing for makers of medical equipment.(0829 Business Health care)截至目前来看，covid-19对于医疗设备制造商来说既有利也有弊。
blessing还有一个常用的地道表达：a blessing in disguise因祸得福。其中disguise表示伪装。如Being dismissed turned out to be a blessing in disguise. He found a higher-paying job subsequently.
China may overtake America as the world’s largest cinema market by revenue this year. The result is that, from “Mulan” to “Pacific Rim” and “Kung Fu Panda”, Hollywood’s output is geared towards the Chinese market.(0829 Leaders Hollywood)从今年的票房收入来看，中国可能会取代美国成为世界上最大的电影市场。结果就是，好莱坞的电影产出，比如《花木兰》、《环太平洋》和《功夫熊猫》，是专为中国的市场定制的。
by在这句话中表示根据...来看，同according to。再比如：It is unreasonable to judge past events by modern standards.
【同义词】be tailored to/for。computer software that is especially tailored for schools专为学校打造的计算机软件。
