“parameter”和“coefficient”是我们科研工作者非常常用的单词，parameter是指“参数”，coefficeint则指的是“系数”。那，很多同学就不明白了，参数和系数有啥区别？

Wikipedia是这么解释的：

“In mathematics, a coefficient is a multiplicative factor in some term of a polynomial, a series or any expression; it is usually a number, but may be any expression. In the latter case, the variables appearing in the coefficients are often called parameters, and must be clearly distinguished from the other variables.”

“A parameter, generally, is any characteristic that can help in defining or classifying a particular system (meaning an event, project, object, situation, etc.). That is, a parameter is an element of a system that is useful, or critical, when identifying the system, or when evaluating its performance, status, condition, etc.”
